What is the molar mass, empirical formula mass and molecular formula of P2O5?!?
-
I'm confused by my texbook b/c it says in order to determine the molecular formula I must follow these steps: molecular formula = (emp. form)n n is a small whole numer molecular form = n x emp. form then molar mass = n x emp. form mass solving for n gives molar mass divided by emp. form mass. Molar mass over emp. form mass = 283.88 g over 141.94 g = 2. Why is the molar mass represented by 283.88 g? I' m sure thus question has a simple explanation, but I'm just confused. Please help.
