1. The concentration of acetic acid in vinegar was determined by titrating a known volume of the vinegar solution with a solution of 0.500 M NaOH. Identify the solution known as the analyte. 2. The concentration of acetic acid in vinegar was determined by titrating a known volume of the vinegar solution with a solution of 0.500 M NaOH. Identify the solution known as the titrant. Here are the choices for both. a. the vinegar b. the sodium hydroxide c. the burette d. the erlenmyer flask e. phenolphthalein So, the Titrant is the one you know the concentration and the analyte is the one you're trying to find the concentration, correct? So for number 1, the Analyte would be the vinegar and for number 2, the titrant would be the NaOH. Trying to find acetic acid concentration (vinegar) and we already know NaOH concentration.

I can not understand what your question is .
Vinegar is generally a 5% solution of Acetic acid which is around 5.0 grams per 100mL. This will be about equal to 50g/L. CH3COOH (Acetic acid) mol mass = C:24 + H:4 + O:32 = 60g/mol. 50g / 60g/mol = 0.800M concentration (Choice # 2). m w, Because my method does not suit your intellect, it does not make it incorrect as you can see from my answer. The answer given was NOT a lucky guess, and, household vinegar is, as I said, 'Generally' 5% solution. Pure Glacial Acetic acid is not called Vinegar. Let me ask you a question.
