Theoretical Yield of Alum?

Chemistry Help? "Calculate the theoretical yield of the resulting alum.."?

  • Answer:

First find the number of moles of each reactant. The one with the least number of moles will limit the reaction. (NH4)2 SO4 (aq) + Al2(SO4)3 (aq) + --> 2 NH4Al(SO4)2*12 H2O Moles .1115 .0468055 So you will produce .09361 moles of Alum. Multiply by the MM to get grams (I think it is 42.42 grams)
