Why do we need some green house hases? What is the problem with having too much of the green house gases?

    Simplest answer is that they internally reflect the suns radiation back against the planet, thus keeping it warm. To little and we'd be a cold rock like mars, too much we'd be a stormy inferno like venus. Not the best analogy, but you get the idea!

So called greenhouse gase such as CO2 and CH4 help to maintain the earth within a temperature range which enables life to survive. (av earth T = 13 degreesC i think) Too much of these gases causes more heat to be trapped in the earth's atmosphere which, as we currently are observing, leads to climate change. This in itself is a big area but I hope this answers your Q.
