How to calculate the molar mass?

How do i calculate the molar mass of aspartame? Please help, thank-you in advance.?

  • Answer:

    C14H18N2O5 is formula. Using C=12; H=1; N=14; O=16 gives a molar mass of 294 Methanol is CH3OH molar mass is 12+(1x3)+16+1= 32 If ratio is I : I Total molar mass is 294 + 32 = 326 % methanol = 100 x mass methanol/total mass = 100 x 32/326 = 9.8%

Materials: Periodic Table Some knowledge first you have to figure out the aspartame formula. Here ill do it for you C 14 H 18 N 2 O 5 check your periodic table for the weight of carbon. which is 12.01 now the weight of hydrogen which is 1.01 now the weight of nitrogen which is 14.01 and oxygen weight which is 16.00 12.01 x 14= 168.14 1.01 x 18= 20.18 14.01 x 2= 28.02 16 x 5= 80 Aspartame atomic mass = 296.34 grams a.k.a. molar mass
