Weird skin irritation?

Latex skin irritation vs condoms?

  • sooo for the time i've been using condoms, i'v had to resort to non-latex condoms. since i knew i had a skin irritation before i started buying condoms. (i use trojan supra) my question is if i can use any kind latex condom. because normally with skin irritation, it depends how the latex was made the causes the irritation. i hope i'm explaining it alright. to sum it up: are there any latex condoms that won't set off a skin irritation. NOTE: it's not an allergy, it's an irritation. i've known about my latex irritation for about 5 years before i started buying condoms. it's not the lube or anything irritating my skin. i'm not able to handle latex gloves or rubber bands. they (normally) leave rashes on my skin. i just don't know about condoms. you'd think they would be manufactured at a higher quality then balloons.

  • Answer:

You had a skin irritation BEFORE you starting buying (and presumably using) condoms? Have you been to a doctor? Maybe you have an STD. If the irritation is only present, or is caused by latex condoms, just stick to non-latex ones. Why go through a kind of Russian Roulette with your privates in hopes that one brand or type won't bother you? It might be problems with spermicides, lubricants (or lack of lubricants) as well, but if you don't have a problem with non-latex prophylactics, make it easy on yourself. And sometimes allergies manifest themselves as irritated or reddened skin, so I have no idea what you are talking about. Go see a doctor. Or county health office or local Planned Parenthood office. Talk to them about your problem. They may be able to help you one way or another.

Im from Australia so we have different brands but is it possible it could be the lube on them? also here they have ones for sensitive skin they should have some there but if the non latex is working for you maybe you should stick to that maybe just trying different brands of them.
