Why does my ankle always pop out of place?

Bones and join in my body pop (noise).?

  • The main joins that do it are my shoulders (bad), my ankles and my knees. The biggest problem one is my shoulders. They pop when I spin them around, in a "windmill stretch", but also when I do anything from a pull up to a push up. If you look at this picture. http://www.bodyweight-only-workout.com/images/armcircles.gif If you look at it like a clock, around "10 o'clock" is when it pops. If I go forward it pops, if I go back, it pops. I can feel it popping, and it seems like it is in the very middle of the shoulder. Either rotator cuff or Glenohumeral joint. Now frequently theres no pain, unless I do a good shoulder workout or stretch my shoulders. If I stretch my shoulders, it always does the popping thing and then it hurts later, and the only way to get it to stop is to sleep it off. Normally I just don't do things to make it pop, and I normally don't get the pain, should I be worried? Also note, I am 21, and have been having all these popping problems since I was well, since I can remember. I haven't seen a doctor about it yet. Also with my ankle. It pops to the point where it locks. but only my left foot. Now this is strange because, my left foot, I can move the big toe on my left foot, and lock it into place (point upwards) but I can't even move my right foot's big toe without moving the others.

  • Answer:

i have the same problem too! it's rather embarrassing when i'm dancing or going up in a stunt. however, it doesn't hurt me, but since it hurts you after you stretch, i would consider seeing a physical therapist. and obviously, don't do the stretches that hurt.
