What is the normal range for TSH levels?

What do you think about these hormone levels?

  • I am 23 year old, male, 185 pounds, at 5'11. I did a testosterone level test in 2010. It was 308. In 2011, it was 317. --------- On January 12, 2012, 8 AM, I tested more than Testosterone: Testosterone: 333 ng/DL. Range: 250-1100 ng/dL Free Testosterone: 79.3 pg/mL Range: 35.0-155.0 pg/mL Prolactin: 18.3 ng/mL. Range: 2-18 ng/mL (Out of Range) LH: 3.9 mIU/mL. Range: 1.6- 8.0 mIU/mL FSH: 3.7 mIU/mL. Range: 1.5-9.3 mIU/mL TSH: 4.22 mIU/L Range:.4-4.5 mIU/L --------- After the tests in January, I was prescribed Cabergoline for the high Prolactin levels. I had to take half a pill, Monday and Thursday. I did this for a month and a half, and I took the blood tests again. This time, I also tested Estradiol. I do have kind of puffy nipples... --------- March 20th, 2012, 8 AM, (After taking Cabergoline 1 1/2 Months): Testosterone: 377 ng/DL. Range: 250-1100 ng/dL Free Testosterone: 92.4 pg/mL Range: 35.0-155.0 pg/mL Prolactin: <1.0 ng/mL. Range: 2-18 ng/mL (Out of Range) LH: 4.1 mIU/mL. Range: 1.6- 8.0 mIU/mL FSH: 4.3 mIU/mL. Range: 1.5-9.3 mIU/mL TSH: 4.75 mIU/L Range: .4-4.5 mIU/L (Out of Range) Estradiol: 9 pg/mL. Range:( < OR= 29 pg/mL) --------- I got treated with Cabergoline for the high Prolactin level, and it really brought it down to below normal.

I'm not a qualified physician so I can't really say too much. You need to work with your endocrinologist to get things just right. Your testosterone levels look low. However some men can do just fine at T levels in the 300's as long as they aren't having symptoms of low testosterone. If you aren't seeing an endocrinologist I highly recommend it. I saw a really good urologist and family doctor for my thyroid and hormone problems but until I saw an endocrinologist I didn't find my current treatment which is much better. -Connor
