How to stop sweaty hands?

Answer:
It's a condition called "Palmar hyperhidrosis" and the severity can vary from mild cold clammy hands to pretty much dripping with sweat. It's more or less over active sweat glands and the cause is unknown however it's a more common condition than you would think. There really is no "cure" although there are things you can buy which will help. You mentioned a free solution but you must realize that nothing in life is free other than the air you breath... Probably the most "natural" thing you can try is baby powder if you don't mind smelling like baby powder. There are also over the counter antiperspirants you can buy which are meant specifically for this and you can probably go into a pharmacy and ask a pharmacist to help advise you, this is probably your best bet and is what I would recommend. If that doesn't work the next step would be to see your doctor and get prescribed Drysol (technically known as Aluminum Chloride Hexahydrate) and is a prescription strength antiperspirant which has a pretty high success rate. For really extreme cases as you mentioned there is surgery to remove sweat glands, but that's only in really extreme / rare cases. Good luck...

Why do they sweat? Mine sweat easily when I am anxious. So to overcome that I put myself into a situation where they are going to sweat. Gradually the anxiety disappears and they do not sweat any more. It is a permanent cure, which has no side effects and needs no medication. It is not one which works overnight, but certainly after 5 or 6 exposures.

Keep them washed with antibacterial soap, such as Dial liquid for starters. Keep an absorbent wipe in your pocket to wipe them on frequently, especially before shaking hands, etc. See a Dermatologist for treatment of the condition. It could be from puberty as you did not mention your age, or stress and nerve related.
