Electrical Engineering Colleges & Space Flight / Satellites?
-
Hi. I'm currently a freshman, university-enrolled engineering student, interested in an Electrical Engineering degree specializing in telecommunications and satellite communications. I started out being interested in aerospace, but after a long series of events, I changed to electrical. As an aerospace major I wanted to specialize in astronautics (science of space flight). This interest of space flight and space-related science still greatly interests me. I am looking for college programs that might be the perfect fit for someone who wants this type of specialty. I am simply asking if anyone knows or could find a good college with programs in space sciences & telecommunications engineering. I plan to graduate with a B.S. but am not against the idea of pursuing another degree. Some basics: - Money is not a big factor. - East coast is preferred - I am currently a freshman college student (class of 2014), but need to find a school to move to for next year. - Interest in space flight and any electrical engineering specialties involved in space. Any help is greatly appreciated. If you have any questions regarding further information don't be afraid to ask before providing a true answer. THANKS!

Answer:
Purdue!!! Purdue is a top engineering school. It has top programs in electrical as well as aerospace engineering. Purdue has graduated 22 astronauts who have been selected for space flight including Neil Armstrong (aeronautical engineering) and Gus Grissom (mechanical engineering) Purdue's undergraduate programs are nationally ranked 4th in aeronautical engineering and 9th in electrical engineering. Graduate school rankings are 6th in aeronautical and 11th in electrical engineering Purdue has a beautiful campus, many student orginizations, and many strong traditions. Although their football program is struggling this year, their mens basketball team made it to the sweet 16 last year and is currently ranked in the top 25. Their womans golf team won the national championship. Purdue graduates are highly sought by recruiters. In '09 the graduation survey shows 85% of aero graduates and 88% of electrical grads were employed or continuing education. Be part of the tradition, become a Boilermaker. Boiler up!!
