Engineering major questions.?
-
I'm interested in going to school for an engineering major. I'm really interested in biology, geology, and planetary sciences. My dream job would be designing and working on something that had to do with mars or living in hostile environments. That would be my dream if I could get the best job. I'm looking at an engineering major, such as an environmental engineer, to maybe get me started along the right path. My question is what other majors are critical for this field of work? And what majors would be better suited towards work like that? A separate question is what jobs can I expect from and environmental Engineering major? What engineering majors are also good and what can I expect? I don't really know much right now so any help would be appreciated. Anything about engineering or future jobs and majors in any field would be great. Thank you very much.

Answer:
Yeah, your best bet for your dream job would to get into Aerospace Engineering. Another good one, if you don't want to do that would be Astronomical based Physics. Physicists usually get paid more than Engineers, so you may want to consider going into that. Environmental Engineering isn't so common, but is a rising trade.

Do not go as an environmental engineer... you should either go for aerospace engineering, or bio-medical engineering, each of those would be well sought after if you are looking to go into space, though with the space projects being put on the back burner, good luck with that. GET STRAIGHT A's, STAY OUT OF ALL TROUBLE, STAY AWAY FROM ALCOHOL AND DRUGS, and GO TO A TOP RANKED ENGINEERING SCHOOL... do all this and you could work for a space program.
