How do video recorders work? i know how camera's work, is it simiilar to that?

Old video recorders that stored on tape laid down signals using a rotating head that put diagonal stripes of magnetic information across the tape. This was so there could be fast head movement without dragging the tape through the machine at high speed. Modern digital recorders take the digitized bytes of pixel information from the camera (which you say you know about) and store it in on a hard disk in the order they come off of (and go back on) the video display/camera. So a magnetic or optical read head can follow the data and put it into a buffer to be read out at 25-30 frames per second.

Digital video camera depending on the type, quality... takes I don't remember how many but like 5 pictures in one second and then convertes the pictures into one realy fast slide show. Like I said there is different qualitys of cameras that make the fps (frames per second) faster.
