How to make sure that ipn response come from Paypal?

Does ir Receiver diode has faster response than a photo diode?

  • I am trying to build a black line follower bot (two wheeled) .The bot has to move quickly sensing the line having 90 degree turns. so i wanted to know if photo diode is going to give faster response than an ir receiver module. Even please provide me the circuit involving any one of these sensors with quick response .If u would like to suggest any other sensor which is stable and gives better sensitivity and response then provide make and model of the component. suggestions and advices which would help in building the efficient bot are always well come... Thank you .

  • Answer:

How fast of a response do you really need? Diodes respond in nanoseconds regardless of type. Unless your bot is traveling at the speed of a bullet fired from a rifle, response time is not going to be a problem. Having said that, receiver modules contain the source of light as well as the receiving diode. Furthermore, in order to reduce errors, the source is typically modulated and the receiving circuitry has some thresholding/noise reduction capabilities. All of that may slow the response time somewhat, but they are very, very useful features. After all, you'll have to condition the signal you receive from whatever sensor you use. And, any sensor that's wrong too often is useless.

IR receiver is just photo diode - for specific range (IR). response time of photo diode is way faster (many orders of magnitude) than any mechanics (such as steering). it's quite pointless to waste time on evaluating response time of photo sensor in application like this. you may want to consider response time of your control loop (because there will be time constants).

Honey, you can buy a cute sweatshirt with kittens on it for less than that...Just get the reguhler pepper shaker. Who am I kidding? Fresh ground black pepper is totally worth a light-emitting diode guiding feature on a pepper mill for $19.99 plus tax. GET IT! GET IT! GET IT!
