Math placement and pursuing engineering.

Math placement and pursuing engineering?

  • I took the math placement and I was qualified to take ma120 (calculus and it's applications) when I need to take ma125 (calculus). I'm nervous. I was 3 pts from qualifying for ma125. Could I ask to be placed in the class when really there's no Major difference in the two courses or would be best to stay in ma120?

  • Answer:

if you are doing engineering, then if you want to put in the extra work to try the hard class, you should. it might not be much harder anyway and you'll need to get up though at least linear algebra depending on your type of engineering. get the math over with and get on to the fun classes. yes, only an engineer would say thermodynamics is fun..
