What is construction engineering?

What's the diffrence between "Construction and Building Engineering" major and "civil engineering" major?

  • i'm willing to study civil engineering so i looked up the ABET website for the university i'm heading to so i found the "Construction and Building Engineering" major is accredited from ABET so is the "civil engineering" degree is the same as "Construction and Building Engineering" or they are diffrent?? do both of them work on the same field?? thanks!!

    Its the same industry but they do quite different things If you talk in terms of a buildings Civil engineer Usually sits in the design office and design all the structural components of the buildings (Beams and Columns and stuff). So you can say he is more like a brain here. Construction and Building Engineer He usually in charge of construction process and enforcing all the civil engineer drawings on site. He usually works under the supervision of civil engineers but ods can be everywhere
