Is surveying people about colorful food a bad science project?
-
I plan on coloring cookies with red, blue, green, and purple food coloring for a science project. I'm required to make a graph and a chart for this project. My goal is to survey about 25 people if they would be willing to eat one of the colorful cookies and complete my project. Is it a good project and how would i put up the problem for the project? My project is due this Friday and I'm still not sure. Please answer and thank you in advanced!

Actually, there is a lot of science involved in colors and how we perceive things/world around us. For instance...have you ever noticed the obnoxious colors inside most fast-food places. They are designed to unsettle you, so you hurry up, eat, and make room for the next sucker. Neat trick, eh? It's not about quality, or enjoying yourself. Just shove something down the throat, and GO! That is fast food. But I digress...I think it's a great project, and should yield some interesting results. Good luck!

Sounds acceptable for an elementary school science project. You'd be studying whether different colors make foods more or less appealing to humans, given that all other attributes are the same. So, sure, it'd be a valid test.
Doesn't seem very useful to me. What is the goal of the project? To find out if people are willing to eat cookies? seems pretty lame. .
