Becoming a mechanical engineer?

i am also an engineering student and my advice would be to go to a community college to do the pre-reqs to get your AA and then get accepted into an engineering program at a university. community colleges usually offer up to calc 3 and differential equations along with statics (some do, most dont). if you're going into college with no prior college credit it will take 4-5 years and you may still have to take classes in the summer to graduate on time. Mechanical engineering is a tough degree to earn but if you're really interested in it and work hard, you'll do well

The average salary for a graduating student with a bachelors degree is above $50,000. Because the degree is so diverse, one can find an ME job in almost any industry. It is quite a challenge but ME's are always in demand and the pay, benefits, and opportunity for advancement in a career are plentiful.

You're never too old to get an education. Think about the people who work in factories and other jobs only to be laid off and have to start a new career. Some of these people are in their 40's and 50's. You can do anything you put your mind to. If you decide not to or if you put it off, time will still pass regardless of what you decide. Why not start now? I've seen too many people put of going to college and then after five or so years have passed, decide to finally go. They could be done by now! The sooner you start, the sooner you'll finish. 25 is young! I'm 26 and I just decided to go to school this year and recieve my Bachelors degree, even though I have an associates degree, but still you can do it!
