Is computer engineering/ computer science a good field to go into?

Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and Computer Science?

  • I am trying to decide whether I want to major in computer engineering or go for a double major in electrical engineering and computer science. I want to know how in depth computer engineering goes into each field, and whether it would be efficient in getting me employment in either field. Obviously with a double major I would learn both fields, but how much more rigorous would this course be, and how much longer would it take? What would someone with experience recommend?

    It is very difficult to specialize in all areas. It is not a wise thing to go for double major. one is likely to become jack of all trades and master of none. Identifies the branch which interests you. If you join that branch it is easy to get employed. But for the employment purpose if one selects the branch.

I think Electrical Engineering might be more non-computer, Computer Engineering would be mostly hardware and C. Science would focus mostly on software. I think computer science would probably present the most opportunity, since software can be used to control or aid the other two, and may make you feel like that you are in control.
