Computer engineering or electrical engineering?

Computer Science + Electrical Engineering= Computer Engineering?

  • I am planning on taking the 3-2 Engineering program where ever available. I plan on majoring in Computer Science for 3 years and then transferring to another university for 2 years to major in Electrical Engineering. From this, I will be receiving a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Computer Engineering is known as the hybrid of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. So taking C.S. and E.E. should also cover the studies that are done in C.E.? So basically although I only completed 2 fields of study, it will be like I covered 3 majors because C.E. is the hybrid of C.S. and E.E.? Am I correct. If not please correct me, with more information. Thank you.

Its slightly different in the UK. If you do EE and then do CS, you have two seperate degrees and yourself can combine to cover computer systems engineering. If you take CSE course, then you will get modules that are specific to CSE which automatically combine the two other degrees schemes, but if you do them seperately, you have to use your own initiative to combine them. If you want to go into CSE, then do a CSE course, but if you are unsure and you may want to go into CS or just EE, then do them seperately, because you will cover more specific areas in each degree. good luck :)
