How do you use Indirect Object Pronouns?
-
How do you use these words and in what context? For example: Luis y yo tenemos una buena amiga en el banco. Ella_____explica cuando tenemos problemas. Nosotros siempre _______decimos<<Gracias>>. Ok on the first blank it is nos and on the second blank it is le. My question is why is it nos and le? how do I know it is nos and le? Is there a context in the sentence that figures out what indirect pronoun(s)you use?

Answer:
Yes, there is a context. Let's translate... Louis and I have a good friend at the bank. She explains (things) __ when we have problems. We always say "thank you" ___. Now, knowing that you have to use indirect object pronouns, we know that "to" has to come before the pronoun (to me, to you, to him, etc.). In Spanish, the "to" is implied in the pronoun - this is just to help you think about the meaning. Louis and I have a good friend at the bank. She explains (things) to__ when we have problems. We always say "thank you" to__. Who does she explain things to? Who do we thank? The only logical options, according to the context, are "She explains things to us" and "We always say thank you to her," hence nos and le.
