Where can I find a virtual speaker for different languages?

Which non-indian languages are the easiest to learn for Punjabi/Hindi speakers?

  • I am a British native who speaks fluent English and Punjabi and to an extent Hindi as it is similar to punjabi. Now I know which languages are most difficult to learn for people who only speak English, but was wondering which languages are the easiest/ most difficult for say Indian people who speak Hindi. I'm sure they'd find it easier to learn Japanese than somebody who only spoke English as Hindi and Japanese have a closer sentence structure than English and Japanese. For an English speaker it is generally accepted that the further East you go, the harder it is to grasp a language from that particular region. But what is it like for Indians who speak Hindi? Where do they stand? Having a complete guess, I'd say Slavic languages would be the hardest for them to learn? Thanks a lot Kaleo, I am trying to learn Japanese but always read how 'it is extremely difficult for English speakers' etc... Which puts me off, I think I agree with your Indian friend because I have noticed that the sentence structure of Japanese is very similar to Hindi so I'm sure I am at an advantage here when it comes to learning Japanese. Less so with Russian thought which is different to both Hindi and English unfortunately :/

  • Answer:

Well one of my close friends is Indian who has been living in the states for a few years and is fluent in English and is now studying Japanese. He tells me he's learning Japanese quicker then he did with English. So Japanese could possibly the easiest to grasp for Hindi speakers.

The easiest in general is Esperanto: no grammatical gender, no irregular verbs, consistent spelling, one verb-ending per tense.. According to guinness book of records, Aymara (lake titicaca) and Papiamentu (dutch antilles) are comparable in difficulty
