Where to learn Japanese?

Where to learn Japanese online?

  • I'd like to learn japanese online (preferably for free). yes I know what it takes to learn a new language (just putting it out there). So does anyone know any good websites with free lessons that actually work? I don't have any knowledge of Japanese at all except a few words i've picked up from anime, so it would have to be for beginners. Thanks

  • Answer:

Check out the link below. This is a podcast from the Radio Lingua Network, based in Scotland. However, the language material is authentic Japanese. I know a tiny bit of Japanese. So, here are the first few phrases in Japanese you will learn. 1. konnichi wa (Hello) 2. Arigato! (Thank you!) or Domo Arigato! (Thank you very much!) 3. Sayonara (Goodbye) or Ja Mada (See you later) Hope this helps. You can subscribe to this podcast via iTunes or your favorite RSS Reader.

verygood...

http://www.123japanese.com - Its free - It has the most content and lessons - It teaches casual and formal Japanese - It has lots of learning tools. I've been useing it for 4 months now, I've seen other websites, haven't seen one that has more information. Note: to the person who said "konnichi wa" means hello, I'd hate to have learned where you learned your Japanese.... It doesn't mean hello. Theres no such words as sayonara and arigato. Its sayounara and arigatou. Sayounara means farewell, its used when your saying goodbye for an extended period of time ja mada, thats wrong. ITs ja mata. And it doesn't just mean bye, giving a translation like this can make confusion.

Check out your library. Try www.fsi-language-courses.org and http://mylanguages.org These are free. You might also look to www.byki.com and download a free sample in many languages. You can buy a more complete package for a fraction of the cost of other programs.
