• So I post this on facebook: I wonder why facebook has turned to sadbook. The place where people go to share their sorrows, and downs in life. Why is it that people post more depressing stuff on facebook, then happy, or funny, or anything positive? Is sympathy from others what they're looking for, or are they just pitying themselves? And some person replied, and was all mad. So now, I wanna leave up to an open neutral audience to decide who has the point, and wins the argument here. Im person 1 .. Heres the conversation: Person 2's reply: why dont u worry about ur facebook & thats it! Person 1: Haha obviously this hurt the people who do it :P why don't you keep your problems to yourselfs and not depress others? ;] hahahaha Person 2: aint no one trying to depress others. if u think like that u must be hella damm stupidd!!!!! To me it seems you feel strong about this because you feel attacked. In pyschology, this is known as the defensive pattern. Note, I am not calling you that, but you feel that yourself. Furthermore, you are very sensitive to perceived criticism. You become angry, judgmental, retaliating, upset, or withdraws. This is usually because you as a child were judged or shamed, but have learned to compensate for this so that you don't live in it as a self-judging or insecure person does. Therefore you must defend yourself against falling into the shame. Do you find yourself using this phrase a lot: "You don’t understand me." .. well yeah. In other words, I completely understand you, so no .. I'm not ignorant. As for you being ignorant; well, condemnation without investigation is indeed ignorance.
