What's the best way to learn French in a short period of time?

  • I am a language student, and I intend to do the Erasmus program for a more efficient language learning, as there is nothing better than to live and learn in a country where the languages I study are the official ones. Thing is, I'm still doing my first year in this course, and I already subscribed to the exchange program, to France. My native language is Portuguese, my secondary language is English (which I already know as well) and my third language is French, thus why I want to go France. I'm only a beginner, but they recommend me to be fluent in the language, because all the classes are tough in French. I know I will have plenty of difficulties, thats the point, but I want to prepare as much as possible while I'm here, so I'm looking for advise for the most effective way to learn this language. On-line exercises and things like that are always welcome. Thank you

    The best way is to find someone who is fluent in France to teach you one on one. However that will be very expensive. There are people willing to exchange language lesson. you can arrange skype session with them. While they are not real teacher, they can speak good French and can correct your error I did rosetta stone. A little pricey but help me learn Chinese real fast. Also it didn't spend much time on grammar, just teach you word and sentence you need

(I know this because I went to France and I tested it out) Rosetta Stone is a computer program that you have to purchase, but its worth it. My teacher actually uses Rosetta Stone to teach us French, and step-by-step activities that we can do. I like is cause you can go at your own pace.
