3 - Nous sommes... Rewrite each sentence with the new subject and the correct form of the verb être. Follow the model and make changes as needed. Modèle --- Il est professeur. Nous sommes professeurs. 1.) Je suis actrice. Il __________________ 2.) Vous êtes copines. Ils ______________ I put "est actrice" for the first and "sont copines" for the second, and got them both wrong. The other ones (that I did not list) I got right. What did I do wrong?

Answer:
Il means that it's a male so it won't be actrice, it'll be acteur. again on number 2, Ils is masculine plural so it would be copains.

You change the "genre". actrice = a woman, acteur = a man. So 1) IL est ATEUR. and 2) copine = a (girl)friend (boy)friend = copain. So 2) Ils sont copains.

Je suis actrice - il est acteur. Vous êtes copines - ils sont copains. (be careful, the spelling is not the same)
You got the conjugation of the verb être correct. The one thing you forgot to do, though, is change the nouns into the proper gender so they agree with the subject pronouns. 1) Je suis actrice: Il est acteur Je is neutral when it comes to genders. However since il is masculine, you have to change the noun actrice (feminine) to acteur (masculine). 2) Vous êtes copines: Ils sont copains Again, this is exactly the same. Copines is a plural feminine noun, and so it must be changed into copains to agree with the masculine subject pronoun ils.
