How to practice spoken English when you are all alone?

How to practice my spoken english ?

  • Answer:

Well, since you are posting on the US yahoo answers, I'm assuming that your here. Most people here speak english, and many people are studying other languages. I recommend finding someone to study with who primarily speaks english, but who is studying whichever language you speak. You could meet once or twice a week, and talk in english for a specified amount of time, and then in your first language.

My mother tongue is not English either. I'm however fluent because I went to live in the UK. Right now, I live in a Spanish-speaking country and I find very helpful to watch English films. I'm also undertaking a course in another field which is in English. I know it may sound silly but I talk in English with my cat too. lol

go on google translate to translate words from different languages into english. It helps! If you have an english class at your school or college, take that. Also, when you hear even random people talking in english, just go up and start a convo! Or go on english chat websites.

Watch movies and shows, and even read audio books (which help a lot!) and talk in English whenever you have the chance: English classes, friends who maybe want to do the same, etc...

Talk to yourself about where you live and your life, or film yourself doing it. Or you could use Rosetta Stone, that worked for me with French
