How can I sort strings in multiple languages?

Is it possible that any 2 or more given languages can have some sort of similarities with eachother?

  • Is it possible that any given language and dialect etc can share or manifest some sort of similarities with any other given language dialect etc in some way. If you consider the ennumerable linguistic features and variables in all languages, the possiblitiy of there being similarities somewhere between any two given languages could be pretty high, be it genetic, coincidental or otherwise like through Isoglossis and other linguistic features like that. I think the chance of resemblances is pretty high wouldn't you think?? A good example is the English word "Dog" and the EXACT same word for DOG is used in one of the native Australian languages of the tribal Indians in Australia. In one of their languages they also use the word "dog" for the same subject that we use it for. Same spelling, same word. It also has NOT been borrowed, and is not a loanword. That right there to me would prrove my whole theory of what I am proposing. What do you think?

  • Answer:

Native Australians didn't spell, I don't think they had a written language. I also don't think they had dogs as much as dingoes. Do you mean from a different Language family? Because Latin, French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.(romantic family), all have words like that. Other than that, if Aboriginal language and English share a word, spelling and all, then it's obviously possible, so why do you ask?

If you put 100 monkeys in a room and give them a typewriter, after an infinite time they will recreate the entire works of Shakespeare.

Languages of the same family can have similarities Spanish and Italian or French even Russian and Ukranian Serbian and Croation along with Bosnian
