Why my high end pc turns off while playing assassins creed?

I have a Core 2 Quad Q6600 Processor, 8gb ddr 2 800mHz of Ram, 8800 gt Alpha Dog, 1tb Sata 2 HDD, updated Direct X and GPU driver. I've just finished Assassin's Creed II, so then decided to install the first one, Assassins Creed(which is older, and would be no problem to play as my pc handles the newer one) but for my surprise every time i try to play assassins creed(the older) my pc turns off... Anyone can help?

it might not be able to run because it is older read the game it should say run on whatever kind of computer Nice game choice!!!!

the game is good, but its prob because its a bit older i also brought the game for pc and it wouldn't evan install and i had all the requirements it was cheep tho like $20
