What is and how to patch ps2 games?

I heard sony released a ps2 patch for the newer ps3 models so that they can play ps2 games.?

    Hi, Benedict is right, no newer versions of ps3 are going to be compatible with the ps2, but sony did launched a software so that you could play "some" (very few) games, you can actually download it directly from the playstation network, I don't remember where you should look but it can't be that difficult to find. The only ps3 models that are compatible and even have a port for ps2 memory cards, are the first ones, when they just released the console. Anyway, hope this information was helpful

No that isn't true. The PS3 slim is not backwards compatible like... and there are no plans to make it compatible in the near future. One of the reasons is that most people who buy PS3 consoles, already own a PS2 Console. Sorry
