How do I add a non-steam game to steam?

Steam Deleted ALL My Game Data?!?

Steam Deleted ALL My Game Data?!? I have Steam and run most of my games through that. Well, I decided to be cool and add a non-Steam game to my game libraray. Next thing I know, I log into my game, and ALL OF MY SAVED DATA IS GONE. And not just for that game. it's for ALL of my games! All of the saved data in all of them has been erased! Now I have to start all over again! How did this happen? Why? How do I prevent it from happening again? Can I get my saved data back? 12 minutes ago - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details I've also updated Steam, so it's good to go. Very depressed now and not really trusting Steam anymore. And no, I don't use Steamcloud for saved data. (I actually have no idea what that is. What is that?)
