WHAT ARE SOME FUN THINGS I CAN DO ALONE ON A TRAMPOLINE?

Fun things to do at my house?

  • First of all, I am a preteen (girl) living on a small farm in montana. In the spring and summer, there is so much to do, from fishing to horse showing, to playing in the woods, to so much more! But my younger sister (age 8) and I often find ourselves bored in the winter. What are some fun things (indoor and outdoor) we can do to keep entertained? And this next part is quite long, sorry: More details: We live pretty far outside of town and we have animals like chickens, goats and horses, as well as dogs, rabbits and barn cats. It snows a lot here in the winter, so outdoor activities have to be fit for cold weather. We're both homeschooled, and we're both bright kids so we usually finish our work early, making for a shorter school day, so we have more time to kill during the day. We do have electronics, (a Wii, Nintendo DS, iPod Touch, Computer, Television) but we are only allowed to spend an hour and a half using them a day unless we're doing something educational, (ie watching the discovery channel or doing research on the computer) so we can't exactly spend the whole day on technology. I like to read, but I can only get new books from the library once a week, and as I usually finish all seven books within a day, two days tops, that doesn't keep me busy for very long. We do have a hill outside our house that could be used as a sled hill, and we have dog agility obstacles (jumps, tunnels, etc.) that we sometimes use with the dogs, but I don't know if that would be fun when there's snow outside. We both like to draw and we both have active imaginations, so anything that could put our creativity to work would be great. We also have a trampoline and a pool, but the pool is a definite no-go in the winter, because we drain it in the winter. We have a few stout climbing trees, but again, not much fun in the winter. So, basically, if you have any ideas that you think would be fun for my sister and I to do in the winter, indoors or outdoors, I'd love to hear it! Thanks for taking the time to read this! Bye!

I grew up in a rural area. My little brother and older sister were the only people around so we made up a lot of games. In the winter we would do the obvious things like make snow angels and snowmen. We also made snow villages and then acted like the others were intruders trying to destroy your village. Snowball fights followed. We also made life-size towns with tunnels and mailboxes for our houses. You don't really need a lot of snow for these. We lived in Southern IL, so yeah. You can also go on quests. We used to put some food in a sled and pretend we were exploring new frontiers in our woods. We also played tic tac toe and games of that sort in the snow. Pictionary was also played by drawing in the snow. Hope this helps. Have fun!

Since you like to draw and have active imaginations, why don't you get yourselves a wii udraw? It's a fun little tablet used with your wii console and I really think it would exercise your creativity :D

How much does it snow? You could make some big snow-sculptures, (like, BIG http://svpow.files.wordpress.com/2010/02/dinosaurs.jpg ) or even whole snow towns. If it's deep enough, you could go snowshoeing or skiing around your property. If you don't have those things, it's not hard to make snowshoes. It's a little harder to make decent skis though. Since you like to draw, you could start your own comic or graphic novel. That will fill up a lot of your time. It also sounds like you need to start reading longer books, so you don't go through them so fast.
