What is a stripped lower receiver on an ar 15?

Aero Research stripped AR-15 upper/lower receiver?

  • Answer:

I am not sure of your question. There was an AR-15 receiver made by Heath kit many years ago. I believe that I have the schematic for the Heath kit unit. I know nothing of an Aero Research receiver Sorry, Ray.

I build match AR's. This question has been answered at least 100 times here in the past 6 months. Generally speaking - of the 23 manufacturer's that make standard lowers - all AR lowers are created equal. Some will have better artwork. Some companies will offer custom serial numbers. There are two are three companies that are producing high end new design lowers. These have different lines - but - they need to be used with the same companies uppper for the lines to match and look cool. You can spend $95 for a standard lower or $240 (and more) for one of these fancy looking ones that do the same thing. And pony up more for the upper too. Thing is - when it comes time to sell it - you probably will never get the money out of it you put into it. If you decide to opt for one of these really cool looking ones - I would suggest you fill out a NFA Form 1 and for $200 turn it into a SBR - short barreled rifle and for another $200 on a Form 4 get a suppressor. This will give you a truly 'cool' looking rifle and with a suppressor on an 11.5 or 14.5 inch barrel it won't be too long. If SBR's are not legal in your state - don't bother with a high tech new design lower. Not unless you have $300+ extra for the upper and lower burning a hole in your pocket and nothing else to spend it on! That - and when you build a lower you need the $150 Brownell's jig to properly fit the trigger and sear. If not - then you will always have a piece of poop shooting gun. Most people who build lowers have a NM (National Match) or SM (Service Match) lower handy as a standard to compair their work. Good luck. If I stumble across the companies that make those really neat looking lowers at lunch today - I will add the link at the bottom.
