What are some good fun things to do in the summer?

  • I am just about to finish my first year of college, in about 4 months I will be leaving on an LDS mission (don't even mention this in your response, just and fyi of why I am asking the question) and I will have these few months to make the most of my time at home. I will hopefully be volunteering at the hospital for a few hours a week, working at a part time job and maybe working for a neighbor a little too. I also want to start running again. I am wondering what some good hobbies would be to spend my free time for this summer. Hobbies I already do are play guitar/write music, play video games (a little), watch TV shows, and I also just bought a few cheap airsoft guns that I play with my brother sometimes (this is something I would like to get more into but I don't really have anyone to play with or the money to get really good gear). Now for what I want you to answer with. What are some cheap (I have a job so it can cost some money but I mostly need to save my money for the mission coming up), fun hobbies that I can get into. I am looking for some stuff outdoors but other things would be cool too. I know the basic answers will be hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, etc. but what are some things that a lot of people don't think about that are really fun. More importantly, why do you lie it? Thanks for answering!

    You could get some Board games from Deseret Book Store that are Gospel related. Seek was a fun quiz game if they still have that game around. These are good things to do if you want to have some fun, but still want to try to learn something at the same time (you never know it could help you on your LDS Mission). Fishing and camping sounds the best, but maybe this could be a little change of pace, from all of that. Some of the games don't take up that much room, they may be flip cards or what have you. Depends on the game of course.

You really need to be reading the scriptures more and stop worrying about hobbies. If you were asked to give a 20 minute talk in Sacrament meeting right at this moment about baptism, could you? If not then preparing for you mission should be your primary focus.

Lately i have been getting with my friends and playing board games, you could also go to the park and play games like Frisbee or even volleyball. There are lots of things that you can do for fun.
