How do I download hair/clothes/other on the Sims 2?

certian websites dont work with certian computer systems your best bet is to use thesims2.com.

that site doesnt seem like a good one to download from, i recommend http://modthesims2.com i have vista and WinRAR and that site works well for me, it has thousands of items INCLUDING hair and other objects everything is free so you do not need to pay for anything, all you need is an account, to place the download into the game here are instructions, just take it slow for the first few times and pretty soon you'll have it down pretty well: browse around on the site of your choice once you find a download you want, click on the link to download usually at the end of the page make sure you read all of the information on the page because some downloads may require a expansion or stuff pack you will need in order for the download to work you will also need to make a special folder for the sims downloads right click your desktop screen and select new folder name it whatever you wish to save your downloads in there after that you will need to extract them if you download WinRAR you can do this easily, win rar is the one i use this is also free but it has "nag ware" meaning a pop up comes up and asks you to buy it, you do not have to just click the red X in the corner and you can still use it this will work on both rar and zip files. once you have that installed go to your downloaded files, right click on the file and select "Extract here" it will load up and then you will have multiple files go to your documents double click on your EA game file and open the sims file look for a file within that one titled "Downloads" if you do not have one, you will have to make one, same way as the desktop file for your sims downloads folder for extracting files only you do it on the screen of the folder for sims this time you cannot title it whatever you wish, it must be named Downloads with a capital D and a s at the end just like this "Downloads" if you title it something else it will not work for the game after that is done cut the extracted files and paste them into the Downloads folder after that everything should be good to go
