What is the magnitude of the third force?

How to find magnitude of force of one charge due to other two charges?

  • I'm so confused with this question. I'd really appreciate your help. Suppose three point charges are arranged as shown in the figure below. A charge q1 = +1.26 μC is located at the origin of an x-,y-coordinate system; a second charge q2 = -0.546 μC is located at (1.20 m, 0.500 m) and the third charge q3 = +0.236 μC is located at (1.20 m, 0). Find the magnitude of the force on q2 due to the other two charges, q1 and q3.

  • Answer:

You sketch the points on the x,y coordinates and connect them all to make a triangle.... Here this should help; http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090219020331AAvhXIR
