How is genetics related to chemistry?

Do you need chemistry a level to study things related to physics?

  • im already doing maths and physics but i was was wondering if u need chemistry too. I know that some say it will be helpful but is is really that necessary/ essential?? if not that important, which parts of chemistry would i come across when doing things related to physics. I was thinking of doing astrophysics...any help???

  • Answer:

wee bit of reductionism here..all of chemistry like chem bonding, reactivity etc is subsumed by elementary QM..likewise molecular biology is subsumed in turn by chemistry..this is not 2 say that an understanding of chemistry wud not be useful..I mean all electronic systems can be understood in terms of band-gaps, electron hole pairs, recombination, dopant valencies etc..but I'd hate2 explain the functioning of a J-K flip flop, binary adder let alone a 64-bit microprocessor in terms of fundamental solid state physics!
