How to go from a Nurse Practitioner to Nurse Anesthetist?

Where do i need to go to be a nurse practitioner that delivers babies?

  • I'm considering becoming a nurse practitioner and I live in Alabama. I know that nurse practitioners CAN deliver babies. But what would a nurse practitioner have to do special in order to seeing as most do not. In Alabama a doctor would have to put me on his insurance in order for me to do it and most won't seeing as OB malpractice insurance is so high. So my question is, where would I need to move in order to be a nurse practitioner who can deliver babies and what would that entail?

  • Answer:

Why not become a midwife if you want to deliver babies? Either way you have to become an RN first. Then go to grad school.
