Question about the Depo Provera birth control shot?

• I received my first Depo shot in Mid December and I am due for another one between the 9th and the 23rd of this month, however I have decided to change my birth control to the Mirena IUD because the Depo shot is giving me breakouts and to bloat. I was more near 102 pounds (don't freak out I have always been small) when I started it. But the thing is, I have been very bloated the past week and I have been eating a lot more than I usually do, but then I get nauseous and won't eat for a day due to my nausea. And now, I am 108 pounds. My periods have been very irregular, lasting between 3-3.5 weeks. But this month(February into March), I got my period, it lasted 2 weeks, stopped for about 5 days and then came back, except it was a lot of dark brown discharge mixed with smaller amounts of BRIGHT red blood. Is that normal? Right now, I am having that discharge said above, but it is a very small amount. I've also been very fatigued and tired lately, like I have not been sleeping at all, even though I have been. So my question is: Is this something to be worried about? and What should I do? What could be the reasoning behind it?

  I have a friend who used to take Depo, and she complained about almost the exact same symptoms; I think it's the side effects. I'd suggest switching to something that works better for you. I take Junel FE and have never had any weird side effects. I've also heard good things about NuvaRing. Best of luck!
