I'm having my first gynecologist visit tomorrow?

I went in once but I didn't have an actual pelvic exam. Tomorrow is my first one and my mom asked if I want her to go in with me. I just think it would be kind of awkward having her there... but I'm not sure. Did your mom ever go in with you? I'm going because I'm 16 and never got my period and my doctor told me I had to.
