Why are most mangas, black on white, grey scale or dithered while most american comics are full colour?

It's cheaper to manga manga in grey-scale. And there are LOTS of more pages in a manga then there are in a graphic novel. Plus graphic novels are published as-is. Mangas are published chapter by chapter in magazines on a weekly and monthly basis. It's impossible for manga to be full colored with those time constraints. Otherwise it'd end up like the manga HOTD where the authors put the original on hiatus to do a full color version.

Because it looks better! Okay, seriously it is because colored ink is so expensive. If they printed every manga in color just think of how much money these companies would be spending. Also, manga is about shading, not the multiple colors you put into the comic. Simply put, a company doesn't want to spend a lot of money for a mana. They would go broke if they did so. Also, it takes time to do something in color. We wouldn't be recieving our manga's weekly if they used color. P.S.---It does look better in black and white!
