Question about resume?

First resume question?

  • My school starts school holidays earlier than other schools so my mum told me that I should get a job to keep me occupied during the holidays because I always complain that I'm bored. The problem is that this would be my first job and I would have to write a resume right? So I have just a couple of questions: 1. What exactly is a resume? 2. What do you put on your first resume? 3. What do you say when you go to places looking for a job? PS - Don't tell me to ask my parents because they're always busy and never help me with anything. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Answer:

Resume is something your potential employers read to know a little something about you which helps them decide if you're interesting enough for an interview. First resume usually includes education, volunteer experience, skills and abilities such as WPM or computer programs known, and references. Dress semi-professional and ask if the place is hiring. If they are, they'll probably give you an application form. I suggest filling it out nearby the site and submit it with your resume even if they don't usually accept resumes. Ask for the phone number of whoever's doing the hiring and call in a day or two to check up on the status of your application.

1. A resume is something that you give to someone to see if they want you or not. Basically if you write you were really stupid in High School, has no experience then they would obviously not choose you. It's what promotes yourself to get the job. 2. Job experience, age, university, practically any highlights in high school, like if you became captain or SRC. Anything that you are particularly proud of. http://www.resume-help.org/images/medical_resume_example.gif Is an example. 3. Oh, anything. Make sure when you talk you have a sense of humour, can understand instructions and tell them why you're the best person for the job.
