Is cracking/clicking your fingers bad for you?

I type with two fingers, or four/six. Is it bad?

• I type with two fingers (Both of my hands middle finger though sometimes I use my thumb for hitting the space bar and the my pinky for hitting the shift/caps lock button rarely my finger between the thumb and the middle. However I type at 78 wpm with theses 2/4/6 fingers. Only two mistakes. When I try to use ten fingers I screw up like crazy. I've never been formally trained. The question is that for other people who type with 10 fingers are they faster? Well I sit in front of a computer for 8-12 hours daily no life 24/7

  That's kind of like trying to play your scales on the piano with only 2/4/6 fingers. Sure, if you spend ten years trying to practice it that way, you'll get pretty fast, but you won't ever get quite as fast as you could have if you had started out using the proper technique. There's a reason that they teach you to use all ten fingers. I type with 10 fingers, and learned to do it the correct way the first time (my mom bought a computer game for me that taught typing) although I do have some bad habits (like only using one of the Shift keys), and I type at 93 WPM.
