Are colleges usually strict with prerequisites?

What prerequisites for nursing program means?

  • I was looking for a while to get admission for a nursing program (associate degree). I did my research to choose a college in internet and I did some calls too, to get more information. The thing which is disturbing me most is PREREQUISITE. I could not get complete information about this and I am a bit confused. Most of the colleges requires prerequisites complete at the of application for admission. I want to know if I can complete prerequisites to any college or at the college which I plan to attend? Do I have to pass some kind of admission to attend the prerequisites courses or I can just sign up and go with it? And also how long it takes to complete? Please, little help..
