  • ok so im 16 years old and my name is suzanna and i hate it like hell its in an embarrassing song called o susanna and it really hurts because i think that people would reject me because of my name and when ever i asked some people if they would be cringed to have a song with their name in they said yes i know im not the only suzanna in the world theirs loads of suzannas in america http://www.namestatistics.com/search.php?name=suzanna&type=first&gender=female and since its a cowboy song i get scared if i see a cowboy on telly or wherever because i think that song will come on and then i,ll be a laughing stock about 2 people have teased me about it in the past i have 2 suzannas on facebook and their both very beautiful and their proud of their names and dont care that its in a song but it dosent make me feel better for some reason i live in the uk by the way and i hate it when someone mentions it to me whenever i forget about it i try not to care about what other people think but it gets me down the song is rarely played yes but it still scares me i know that their millions of other songs with other peoples names in but that dosent help me the song may not define me but about 1 or 2 people remind me or sing it to me rarely and it upsets me and makes me want to knock them out so do i have a bad name ? if yes then why and dont give me stupid answers or the lyrics of the o susanna song if you do it will get reported

    I totally disagree, Suzanna. I know women and girls named Suzanne, Susanna, and Susannah (with an "s" not a "z") who are some of the coolest people I know and that makes me like the name. To be honest the song never crosses my mind when I think of them. Watch a Susannah York movie sometimes to get a positive image of what a lovely name you have. There are songs with my name in them too, and no one has teased me about it since I was a child. Even then, the teasing was friendly. My advice: just keep on being a cool person and laugh off the teasing. These kids are being immature and will outgrow it.

Suzanna is not a ugly name, why don't you just shorten it to anna or something? Or go by you're nickname. If the name is honestly driving you crazy you can always get it legally changed at a courthouse.

You're way too sensitive about this. Suzanna is a lovely name and it's way better than being one of zillion Emilys or Jessicas or whatever names are popular in your country. Just own it, "That's right. It's such a great name that it has its own song." Or use a nickname like Suzie, Annie, Anna, Zan, Zanna or Zany.
