How does Per Diem work?

Company i used to work for closed, can i file unemployment if i got a per diem position at another place?

  • Answer:

I don't know where you are located, but in our jurisdiction you should file for unemployment and you will have to deduct your per diem from the amount you receive, and there are special considerations: For example: our uec site says-- You may earn up to 40 percent of your weekly benefit rate in each claim week before your earnings affect your weekly benefit payment. So I recommend that you go out to their site and read FAQ's and other info, perhaps talk to a representative and file.
