How do I deal with an overly assertive and outgoing co-worker?

Business Professionals. How do you deal with a competitive coworker?

• You know the man/woman who is always trying to one-up you all the time? The person who seems to target YOU...trying to make themselves look good at your expense. I think my coworker might be trying to compete with me. I feel like she is insecure and a bit jealous of me. The problem is with her bc before she skated the last office available with a window from me, I thought everything was fine. She called the office while I was out of the room. Then when she got it she sat down smiling.....it made me so angry. I have more professional experience in the accounting field and a college education. She has less than a year of professional experience where I have over 5. She is at least 15 years older than me and is just beginning college. At meetings and during discussions she'll say yeah, mmmmmm, mmmhummm to make it sound like she is knowledgeable of the subject matter. Anyway, about the office, my boss said, while looking at me, during our last meeting "If anyone is not happy with their office, let me know and we'll see what we can do." The office that my very green coworker cheated me out of has more shelf space-which I will need bc my boss and others will be delegating some of their work to me. Whether or not switching offices will create negativity is making me wonder if it is worth it to try to switch. Do you think I should attempt to take her office? How would you deal with a coworker like this?
