How to do references in Java work?

What do you do when you don't have any work references?

• I am filling out an application for Wal-Mart at their website (no lectures; I'm desperate with a capital DESPERATE for a job) and there was a section that asked for two references from people that you worked with (or volunteered for) in the past. The problem is that I don't have any work references, as I didn't keep in contact with any people I worked with, and never did volunteer work; you can't skip it because it won't let you. How would I be able to work my way around this? (It's dumb that they there's no way to skip that page since there would be people filling the application out that have never worked before or volunteered anywhere; they should have another option on that same page, like having a check box with the statement "Check here if you don't have work references."
