How does shipping something through USPS media mail work?

  • Answer:

You don't need a special envelope, you just can't use priority or overnight envelope. To ship media mail, you can only send a piece of media (ie book, cd, dvd, etc)

the first two have it right. It is only for media and it does get opened If does not qualify for media mail it would be returned First class is only a few cents higher and a lot faster

No, you don't. It's just for media, like books. Under a certain weight, it's cheaper to ship First Class. Above a certain weight, you can save some money.

A dvd *IS* a form of media. There's absolutely nothing wrong with shipping it that way. You can use media mail for ANY form of media, print or electronic.
