What does a high school fashion club do?

Is it morally wrong to sell friendship bracelets during school?

• Ignore the literal rules for a second. Just know that the worst that can happen is I get a detention and frowny-faced admins. And it's high school. But is it a morally wrong thing to do? It's not food, so technically the lunch ladies/school vending machines aren't directly threatened by it. I'd do it after school, etc. but never disrupt class. It's not stealing from students, because they get a good in exchange for money - that's business and economics, nothing wrong with the basic concept. There's no fraud to the students, lol. There are other students that sell things (candy, duct tape wallets, beanie hats, etc.), and are sly about it so admins/teachers usually don't catch them (although this point alone doesn't make it a "right" thing to do). It'd be kind of underground. I'd be using the money mainly towards school/academic trips (such as student council conventions), possibly a new laptop (which is partially used for homework/research/learning/nourishment), and college (okay, maybe it's not enough to pay for the school itself, but at least I'd have funds to decorate my dorm room with! Haha). I'd possibly also use it towards senior year things later on, such as prom. I'm a sophomore now but it's not a bad time to start saving! So, basically, the money goes back towards my personal education. And I'd also use it towards sales for clubs (ie. Swim team has a donut sale, Fashion club sells t-shirts), so in a sense the money goes back towards school stuff. Also, since I'm in student council and I know what's going on with many clubs, I'd be getting the word out as I make transactions with my personal bracelet sales. In addition, it's personal experience for me to (sort of) learn how to run a business, manage money, and work hard for things that I want. Do the benefits outweigh the risks? What's your take on the topic? Does it go against the Ten Commandments or the Torah/Bible in some way, or anything like that? Those are the ultimate moral/law codes, to me.

  It's morally wrong for one individual to disobey rules that are made for the good of the larger population, unless they are doing so out of a strong moral conviction, or to save a life, or to fight evil. Selling bracelets does not fall into the category of acceptable reasons to disobey rules that all are meant to be guided by. Take some of the intellectual energy you're expending on this issue and put it toward your studies. You'll be much better off.
