Usps collection box questions?
-
In front of the usps, there's 3 blue collection box, what's the difference between those 3? And can I put a paid mail/small package under 13 ounces that ships international in one of those 3 collection box? But which box would I put it in if I want it mailed internationally? And can I put like, 3 stamps on one package so it can equal the amount I need to pay for the shipping? Or should I just do the click n ship

Answer:
I work at a large Processing and Distribution Center. We are also the main Post Office for a small city and local Post Office for a medium size village. Outside we have 5 blue boxes. There is no designation on any of them. The reason is that all the mail, no matter what class or where it is addressed to goes to a breakdown area, where it is separated and then handled accordingly. You will probably find the 3 boxes in your area unmarked except for pick up times. And even if they were marked for express or metered mail it will still all go in one hamper and then separated at the Processing Center serving your area. As far as your package, as long as the correct postage is applied, you can use any USA stamps

The 3 boxes are : 1) Express Mail 2) Stamped Mail--mail with postage stamps and 3) Metered Mail--mail with a postage meter indica If the package you're mailing is less than 13 ounces, and you've put the correct amount of stamps on it, put it in the box for stamped mail. if you do the Click N Ship, put it in the metered mail box.

Just look at the boxes. They're labeled. One probably says EXPRESS MAIL and one says LOCAL MAIL and one says OUT OF TOWN. And yes, you can put packages under 13 ounces in those drop boxes as long as you're sure you have the correct amount of postage on them. International would go in the "out of town" box.
